International Telecoms Week (ITW) is the annual meeting point for the international telecoms wholesale community. In 2008, 21 globally renowned telecoms companies approached Capacity Media, the publisher of ''Capacity'' magazine, to organize an international meeting for the wholesale telecoms community. The inaugural ITW meeting was held on June 2–4, 2008 in Washington, D.C., where 250 companies and 3,024 international delegates attended. The event has now grown significantly with the most recent event held in May 2014 in Chicago hosting 6039 delegates from 1,874 different organizations from 148 countries. ITW has a range of networking opportunities, including meeting rooms, an integrated exhibit and bilateral table area, and numerous breakfasts, lunches and cocktail receptions, as well as a variety of conference sessions for attendees to benefit from. The event is attended by global carriers, mobile/wireless operators, Internet service providers, Voice over IP providers and technology partners from the voice, Data, Satellite, sub-sea and fixed line markets who buy and sell voice and data products and services. According to event demographics, ITW 2014 attracted 24% of its delegates from America, 28% from Europe, 10% from the Middle East, 9% from Africa, 9% from Latin America, 12% from Asia, and 8% from Australasia. The majority of attendees had C-level (21%), Director (27%), Manager (27%) and EVP/SVP (17%) titles.
